How it all began

The deli you walk into today was never the original plan. In 2023 we were set to open as a purified water refill station — until the storms hit and everything changed.

Most people see what we are today — a deli filled with thoughtfully sourced products, fresh bakes, and wholesome goodness. What many don't know is how it all began.

This space was never meant to be a deli to the extent it is now.

The original vision was simple: a purified water refill station.

Clean, accessible water for the community — that was the heart of it. Everything was ready, and the day we were meant to open our doors in 2023… the storms hit.

Hermanus was left without water for an extended period, and just like that, everything changed. The Municipality couldn't allow us to operate as planned.

We stood at a crossroads before we had even properly begun.

So instead of standing still, we adapted.

To cover costs and keep the doors open, we started bringing in a few carefully chosen products — small at first, just enough to get by. But something unexpected happened. People connected with it. What began as a temporary solution slowly grew into something far more meaningful.

Shelves filled up. Ideas expanded. Passion took over.

And that's how the deli was born.

Today, what started as a plan for water has become a space for nourishment in every sense — from what you drink to what you eat, and the feeling you leave with.

Sometimes the path you plan isn't the one you walk… but it turns out to be exactly the one you were meant to take.
